Jammu and Kashmir’s Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha, spearheaded a significant anti-drug rally in Srinagar, emphasizing the government’s unwavering stance against drug trafficking and narco-terrorism.

Sinha declared that the anti-drug crusade will persist until every drug smuggler, peddler, or dealer is eradicated from the region. He kickstarted a major campaign targeting drug abuse and narco-terrorism, underscoring the administration’s resolve to eliminate this menace from Jammu and Kashmir.

The initiative aims to escalate actions to combat narcotics proliferation, dismantle drug syndicates, and confront the escalating threat of narco-terrorism in the area. The endeavor will entail cohesive efforts by law enforcement bodies, educational initiatives, and stringent surveillance to identify and crack down on drug peddlers and their networks.

The Lieutenant Governor stressed the importance of collective accountability, urging the youth, civil society, and community leaders to actively engage in the battle against drugs. He reiterated the administration’s policy of zero tolerance towards individuals involved in drug trafficking and associated offenses, aligning with the broader objective of fostering a drug-free society and securing the youth’s future.

In his speech, Sinha highlighted that success in life is achieved by those who steadfastly pursue their goals. He called upon the youth to embrace responsible citizenship, recognizing them as the future leaders across various domains in the nation.

Sinha had previously announced stringent penalties for drug smugglers, including the revocation of Aadhaar cards, driving licenses, passports, and confiscation of assets derived from drug proceeds. These punitive measures supplement the existing legal consequences for such criminal activities.
