Lucas di Grassi broke a four-year winless streak in Formula E by clinching victory at the 2025-26 Shanghai E-Prix double-header race. Starting from 19th on the grid, di Grassi secured his first win since 2022, marking a milestone for Lola Yamaha since taking over Abt Cupra team’s license in 2024.
Despite rainy conditions at the Shanghai International Circuit, di Grassi and runner-up Jean-Eric Vergne opted for dry setups, a move that paid off as the track dried up. Di Grassi’s strategic driving saw him climb to third place before claiming victory on the final lap, becoming Formula E’s oldest race winner.
Pascal Wehrlein, who led early on but finished fourth, took the championship lead after Mitch Evans couldn’t start due to technical issues. With three races left, Wehrlein leads with 141 points, followed by Evans nine points behind, and reigning champion Oliver Rowland in third with 114 points.
