Indian Premier League (IPL) team Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) has sent their young batters, Mukul Choudhary and Akshat Raghuwanshi, to Manchester for a specialized off-season training camp. The duo will be under the guidance of LSG head coach Justin Langer and the franchise’s strategic advisor, ex-New Zealand captain Kane Williamson. LSG shared the news on their social media, highlighting the new challenges and learnings awaiting the players in Manchester.
Both Langer and Williamson are currently in England preparing for The Hundred men’s competition, where they will be coaching the Aiden Markram-led Manchester Super Giants (MSG), a team owned by LSG’s parent company, the RPSG Group. Wicketkeeper-batter Choudhary, known for his finishing skills, played a crucial role in the recent IPL season, scoring 170 runs in ten games at a strike-rate of 141.66. On the other hand, Raghuwanshi, representing Madhya Pradesh in domestic cricket, had a more limited impact with 29 runs in three games.
The focus of Choudhary and Raghuwanshi’s training under Langer and Williamson will be on technical adjustments to excel on English pitches and enhance their skills as modern T20 batters. This opportunity aims to help them adapt to the evolving demands of T20 cricket and elevate their performance levels. LSG recently acquired left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav for Rs 13.5 crore for the upcoming season, following the trade of former captain Rishabh Pant to the Delhi Capitals.
