Lyricist and writer Manoj Muntashir shared an interesting fact about the song ‘Kaun Tujhe Yoon Pyaar Karega’ from the movie MS Dhoni during an appearance on the show ‘Tum Ho Na’ hosted by Rajeev Khandelwal. He disclosed that initially, the song was written for a male voice with Arijit Singh as the singer and Amaal Mallik as the composer.
Muntashir explained that the decision to change the song to a female version came about during discussions with the film’s director Neeraj Pandey and producer Bhushan Kumar. They felt that the character of M.S. Dhoni, played by Sushant Singh Rajput, wouldn’t suit a male voice expressing love openly.
Later, after much deliberation, the team decided to keep the song as a female version, with Muntashir expressing relief that the song remained in the film. He also shared a personal anecdote about the song’s origin, inspired by a moment with his son that led to the creation of the iconic lyrics.
Manoj Muntashir also highlighted the song’s significance in the movie, featuring Sushant Singh Rajput and Disha Patani, as one of Bollywood’s most romantic tracks.
