Veteran actress Madhoo recounted how being turned down at her first audition altered her approach to work, ultimately guiding her to success. In an interview, she disclosed that she was initially set to collaborate with Aasif Sheikh on a project, but the role went to Kimi Katkar instead. Despite feeling furious about the rejection, Madhoo redirected her emotions into her debut film “Phool Aur Kaante.”
Madhoo expressed that the rejection fueled her determination to prove herself in the industry. Recalling the incident, she mentioned, “I was replaced by Kimi Katkar. I don’t recall the film’s name or if it even had one. Aasif Sheikh was my co-star, and that rejection was a pivotal moment for me. The anger I experienced then transformed me into who I am today, propelling my career forward.”
Reflecting on how her work ethic evolved post-rejection, Madhoo shared, “People often ask about my debut with Ajay Devgn in ‘Phool Aur Kaante.’ Following that setback, I was driven by a strong desire to succeed. I approached ‘Phool Aur Kaante’ with a unique determination and focus solely on my craft, devoid of personal connections.”
Having made a noteworthy entry into Bollywood with “Phool Aur Kaante” in 1991 alongside Ajay Devgn, Madhoo went on to feature in several successful films like “Roja” (1992), “Allari Priyudu” (1992), “Yoddha” (1992), and “Gentleman” (1993). She also ventured into television with series such as “Kaveri,” “Devi,” “Soundaravalli,” and “Aarambh: Kahaani Devsena Ki.”
