In a move to enhance cultural and religious tourism, the governments of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh have inked two significant agreements during a business summit in Varanasi. The agreements involve collaboration between Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust in Varanasi and Mahakaleshwar Temple Trust in Ujjain, as well as a pact to promote One District-One Product (ODOP) items.
The ‘Madhya Pradesh-Uttar Pradesh Cooperation Conference’ in Varanasi witnessed the signing ceremony in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and key Cabinet Ministers from Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yadav highlighted the spiritual significance of Varanasi and Ujjain, emphasizing the shared geographical, cultural, and historical bonds between the two states.
Recognizing the immense potential for religious tourism in Varanasi and Ujjain, Chief Minister Yadav mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts in advancing development projects in these cities. He emphasized the joint efforts of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh in creating a religious tourism circuit to enhance the pilgrimage experience for devotees.
The conference aimed to showcase the industrial strengths, traditional crafts, ODOP products, and tourism potential of both states. Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development and Investment Promotion Minister Nand Gopal Gupta praised the deep understanding demonstrated through the ‘Sahyog Sammelan’ (Cooperation Conference) and highlighted the close ties between certain regions of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
