Madhya Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has uncovered a significant anti-national network reportedly aided by Pakistani handlers. Two suspects have been apprehended for their involvement in a plot to destabilize India through radicalization, targeted killings, and youth recruitment. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized the state police’s commitment to rooting out such threats.
Mohammad Faraz, residing in Bhopal, and Naim Abdullah from Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, have been identified as the arrested individuals. The duo, in contact for six years, communicated through encrypted platforms like Telegram and WhatsApp. Faraz, accused of radicalizing local youths, was found with objectionable materials allegedly sent from Pakistan.
Faraz, currently in ATS custody, was connected to radical elements and handlers in Pakistan. He is suspected of influencing local youths to expand the anti-national network, with plans for targeted killings and spreading fear. Naim Abdullah, also arrested, was allegedly introduced to radical activities by a Pakistani handler six years ago, leading to his involvement in the conspiracy.
The investigation has uncovered that the network aimed to mobilize youths, acquire weapons, and plot against India’s democratic system. Faraz, undergoing interrogation, had received online training in targeted killings and was preparing for potential overseas activities. The ATS is delving into bank accounts, social media profiles, and funding sources to unveil more network members.
