Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav declared a 3% rise in dearness allowance (DA) for state government workers, elevating the total to 58%. This announcement was made on the occasion of Holi, extending greetings to around 7 lakh state government employees in various departments.
Yadav stated that all state government employees would start receiving a 58% dearness allowance in their salaries from April 2026 (paid in May), aligning with the government of India. Arrears from July 2025 to March 2026 will be disbursed in 6 equal installments starting from May 2026. The Chief Minister also confirmed that pensioners would receive a 58% dearness allowance on their pensions from January to February 2026, emphasizing the government’s commitment to the welfare of all sectors.
During a cabinet meeting in Barwani under the Kisan Kalyan Varsh initiative, significant decisions were taken during the day. In the evening, a decision was made for the benefit of all employees and pensioners. Yadav highlighted the transformation in the Barwani-Nimar tribal region, once plagued by drought and migration, due to the Narmada water supply and irrigation projects. He also mentioned advancements in farming practices in the Narmada Valley region, attributing the availability of irrigation to a 2-3 degrees Celsius decrease in general temperatures.
