Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav revealed plans to set up ‘Maa Saraswati Lok’ and the ‘Raja Bhoj Research Institute’ in Dhar, aiming to transform the district into a hub for heritage, research, and development. The announcement was made during a special event held on Ganga Dussehra, following the Chief Minister’s worship at the Bhojshala temple complex in Dhar.
This visit by the Chief Minister holds significance as it marked the first instance of a sitting Chief Minister conducting prayers at the disputed site, which has been a focal point of a long-standing legal and religious conflict. The Madhya Pradesh High Court recently ruled the ASI-protected Bhojshala complex as a Hindu temple on May 15, further amplifying the importance of this visit.
Yadav, acknowledging the court’s decision, stated, “The Madhya Pradesh High Court has given its judgment on the Bhojshala matter. Dhar is now entering a new era.” He commended the people of Dhar for upholding historical truths and emphasized the need to propel the district towards progress in the future.
During the event, the Chief Minister paid tribute to the families of individuals who lost their lives during the Bhojshala movement. He honored the martyrs’ families by inviting them on stage, offering his respects, and announcing financial aid of Rs 5 lakh each. Yadav also connected the proposed institutions to Dhar’s historical significance linked to the 11th-century ruler Raja Bhoj, envisioning a future where Dhar leads in various sectors.
Highlighting the government’s development initiatives in the region, Yadav mentioned existing infrastructure and industrial projects, such as the PM MITRA Park and the textile hub inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event witnessed the presence of Union Minister of State Savitri Thakur, Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, and MLA Neena Vikram Verma among other dignitaries.
