Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav unveiled initiatives to enhance the state’s law enforcement and investigative capabilities. He introduced a new investigation allowance for police officers and bolstered cybercrime response mechanisms. Chief Minister Yadav emphasized the government’s commitment to providing modern resources to the police force to effectively address evolving challenges.
The proposed investigation allowance aims to assist officers in covering expenses related to criminal investigations, such as evidence collection, digital forensics, and arrangements for accused individuals, witnesses, and victims. Additionally, in response to the growing concerns of cybercrime and artificial intelligence misuse, the Chief Minister sanctioned the engagement of IT consultants and cyber experts to fortify the State Cyber Cell.
Furthermore, a new AI-based platform called ‘Safeguard MP’ was approved to enhance the safety of vulnerable groups, including elderly citizens and women. The government also evaluated preparations for Simhastha 2028 in Ujjain, emphasizing the importance of sustainable infrastructure development beyond the event to benefit the city in the long term.
During the review meeting, discussions included proposals to establish the Madhya Pradesh Police Selection and Recruitment Board, deploy mobile Scene of Crime units at the district level, and provide special allowances for VVIP duty. Plans to enhance the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Special Task Force (STF), and Hawk Force through advanced training facilities were also deliberated.
