Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced a special one-day session of the state Legislative Assembly to address the women’s reservation issue. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment and stated that the matter will be taken directly to the people for their understanding. A protest march, known as the Akrosh Rally, is scheduled in Bhopal on Monday to advocate for women’s rights.
Following the recent failure of key bills in the Lok Sabha, the BJP has initiated a state-wide protest campaign against the Congress and other opposition parties. Chief Minister Yadav highlighted that various forms of demonstrations and public meetings will be organized across the state to support women’s reservation. Resolutions backing this cause will also be passed at the local body levels.
CM Yadav expressed disappointment over the opposition’s handling of the Women’s Reservation Bill, terming it a setback for women’s empowerment. He criticized the opposition for politicizing the issue and vowed to fight for women’s rights across Madhya Pradesh. The government remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring that 33% reservation benefits reach women promptly.
