Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav unveiled plans to transform Ujjain into the world’s “Time Capital” and establish a modern Science City. Emphasizing Ujjain’s historical significance in science, he inaugurated a new science facility in the city with government support. Chief Minister Yadav aims to position Ujjain as a hub for astronomical time calculation and scientific research.
Chief Minister Yadav highlighted the astronomical importance of Ujjain, noting the shift of the sun’s shadow observation point to Dongla village. He envisions Dongla as a modern center for scientific exploration and aims to revive Ujjain’s ancient astronomical glory. The installation of the “Vikramaditya Vedic Clock” in Ujjain, displaying time in traditional Indian units, marks a significant step towards blending ancient wisdom with modern technology.
With a focus on reclaiming India’s historical role in setting global time standards, Chief Minister Yadav advocates for Ujjain to be recognized as the prime meridian. By leveraging Ujjain’s astronomical heritage and modern scientific advancements, the government aims to position Dongla as a key spot for time calculation. These initiatives align with preparations for the upcoming “Simhastha Mahakumbh 2028” in Ujjain, expected to draw millions of devotees.
