Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to conduct the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony on Sunday for the initial phase of the Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor project in Sector A, Village Nainod, Indore. This phase, costing approximately Rs 326.51 crore, will kickstart infrastructure development activities as per a recent press release.
The project, spanning 1,300 hectares with an estimated cost of Rs 2,360 crore, aims to revamp the industrial landscape of the region. It is designed to cover a 300-meter zone on both sides of a 75-meter-wide, 20-kilometer-long road, as detailed in a press note.
Increasing the allocation from 50% to 60% has bolstered farmers’ confidence, leading to enhanced voluntary participation in the initiative. The Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor is a key endeavor focused on revitalizing the industrial sector and attracting substantial investments, thus generating fresh employment prospects.
By prioritizing farmers’ interests and ensuring their consent in land acquisition, Chief Minister Yadav has successfully balanced development objectives with community welfare. This approach has not only boosted farmer engagement but also facilitated smoother progress for the corridor project.
The scheme offers farmers developed land with essential amenities like roads, electricity, and water supply in exchange for their original plots. With the augmented 60% allocation, farmers are poised to gain increased financial benefits in the long run, enabling them to utilize the land for various economic activities and secure sustainable income sources.
The initiative is anticipated to enhance connectivity, foster contemporary infrastructure, and establish a favorable environment for industrial expansion. Additionally, the project is expected to create new job opportunities for local youth, injecting fresh impetus into the socio-economic advancement of the region.
