Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to transfer over Rs 1,836 crore to more than 1.25 crore beneficiaries of the ‘Ladli Behna Yojana’ in a ceremony at Makhan Nagar, Narmadapuram district. Additionally, he will allocate over Rs 90 crore to 29 lakh recipients for gas cylinder refilling assistance. Chief Minister Yadav will also kickstart various development projects for the district during the event.
Under the Ladli Behna scheme, each beneficiary will receive Rs 1,500, marking the first installment of 2026 and the 32nd since the program’s inception in June 2023. Initially introduced at Rs 1,000 per month by former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the amount was raised to Rs 1,250 in September 2023. Chief Minister Yadav has announced plans to further increase it to Rs 3,000 by 2028, coinciding with the next state Assembly elections.
The scheme has already disbursed a total of Rs 48,632.70 crore to beneficiaries’ accounts from June 2023 to December 2025, with Rs 38,635.89 crore transferred between January 2024 and December 2025. The government highlighted that the Ladli Behna Yojana has significantly enhanced economic security, self-reliance, and dignity for women statewide. Future initiatives aim to connect beneficiary women with employment opportunities, self-employment, and skill enhancement programs for greater economic empowerment.
