Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav visited Bargi Dam in Jabalpur after a cruise boat accident, meeting victims’ families to offer support and ensure a thorough investigation. He expressed condolences and reassurance to bereaved families and survivors during the visit, also announcing the recovery of nine bodies and rescue of 28 individuals.

Yadav interacted with survivor Riyaz Hussain, who was rescued after being trapped in the vessel for hours. A high-level inquiry committee will be established to probe the incident, examining safety protocols compliance and determining the causes of the accident. The Chief Minister emphasized implementing Standard Operating Procedures for boating and adventure tourism to enhance safety measures.

In response to the tragedy, Yadav announced a Rs 4 lakh ex gratia payment to the deceased families, with an additional Rs 2 lakh assistance from PM Modi.
