Madhya Pradesh Congress leader Jitu Patwari’s younger brother, Nana Patwari, was taken into custody by the Indore police following the interrogation of two suspected drug dealers. This development has sparked a political controversy in the state. The police detained Nana Patwari after the suspects mentioned his name during the investigation of an alleged drug racket.
The Congress party has strongly reacted to the detention, claiming that Jitu Patwari’s family is being singled out for political reasons. Senior Congress leader Vivek Tankha expressed his dismay over the police’s actions. Tankha revealed that Jitu Patwari informed him about his brother’s sudden arrest without any specific charges being mentioned.
Another senior Congress figure, Sajjan Singh Verma, alleged a conspiracy against Jitu Patwari’s family. Verma urged Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to intervene and ensure fairness in the matter. The police have not yet released an official statement on the case, leaving it unclear whether Nana Patwari has been formally arrested or is being questioned in connection with the investigation.
