Amid a political controversy surrounding the death of NEET aspirant Akanksha Chaturvedi and allegations of irregularities in the exam, the district administration in Mauganj, Madhya Pradesh, has pledged full support to her family. Mauganj Collector Sanjay Kumar Jain visited Akanksha’s family in Manganiya village to offer condolences and support during this difficult time. Akanksha, a Mauganj resident preparing for NEET in Nagpur, reportedly died by suicide, sparking a debate on exam stress and alleged irregularities.
The Collector termed the incident as “deeply tragic” and assured the bereaved family of the administration’s unwavering assistance. The Congress has linked Akanksha’s death to the stress caused by the alleged NEET paper leak and irregularities in the exam process. Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi reached out to the family, and the Congress pledged financial aid, drawing further attention to the issue. Collector Jain instructed officials to stay in touch with the family and ensure prompt delivery of government aid.
Expressing empathy, Collector Jain emphasized that the district stands by the family during this irreparable loss. He urged students facing exam-related stress to seek help from their support system, including family, teachers, and counselors. Mauganj SP Virendra Jain clarified that the local police have no involvement in the case, as the incident falls under Maharashtra Police’s jurisdiction in Nagpur. The investigation is ongoing, with no related offense registered in Mauganj.
Accompanied by other officials, Collector Jain’s visit aimed to show solidarity with the grieving family and ensure seamless support from the district administration. The tragic loss of a child has prompted a call for dialogue and assistance to address challenges effectively during such distressing times.
