The Madhya Pradesh government confirmed that educational and medical institutions in the state are receiving their LPG cylinders without any disruptions, while domestic supply remains stable. Domestic LPG production has surged by 36%, and the Centre has issued directives for special concessions in City Gas Distribution. Representatives from oil companies reported an increase in online booking from 84% to 90% during a recent review meeting. Additionally, facilities for gas booking through mobile apps, SMS, WhatsApp, and IVRS calls have been introduced.
A six-member committee has been formed by the state government to coordinate with oil companies regarding the availability of petrol, diesel, CNG, PNG, and domestic LPG. Measures are being taken against the hoarding of LPG cylinders, with authorities conducting raids at 1,341 locations and seizing 1,827 cylinders across the state. Industrial and commercial establishments have been encouraged to obtain PNG connections where available, with the government assuring uninterrupted PNG supply for the future.
State Nodal Officer for oil companies, Ajay Srivastava, mentioned that Madhya Pradesh has ample stock of gas cylinders, ensuring sufficient supplies at bottling plants and distributors’ warehouses. The government advised commercial users to use available stocks judiciously and explore alternative fuel sources. Users are urged to regulate activities consuming large gas quantities and develop alternative arrangements where feasible. For any complaints or suggestions regarding cylinder bookings, the government provided toll-free numbers for Bharat Gas, Indane Gas, and HP Gas.
