He highlighted the significance of celebrating the Foundation Day of these two states in promoting national integration and shared heritage. The Governor emphasized that such events strengthen emotional bonds, promote mutual respect, and showcase India’s unity in diversity.
Governor Patel commended Gujarat for its resilience, innovation, business acumen, and discipline, noting its significant contributions to the nation’s economic and social progress. He also lauded Maharashtra for its diligence, discipline, social harmony, and cultural pride, emphasizing the state’s invaluable role in nation-building through a blend of tradition and modernity.
Speaking about Maharashtra’s spiritual and cultural heritage, Governor Patel mentioned iconic landmarks like the Godavari river, Sahyadri mountain ranges, Ajanta and Ellora caves, Trimbakeshwar temple, and pilgrimage sites such as Shirdi and Pandharpur. He highlighted the historical significance of figures like saints Dnyaneshwar, Tukaram, and Namdev, as well as the inspirational leadership of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and freedom fighters like Lokmanya Tilak, Veer Savarkar, and Gopal Krishna Gokhale.
