Madhya Pradesh Advocate General Prashant Singh highlighted that the High Court, in the Twisha Sharma death case, noted seven crucial ante-mortem injuries on the victim’s body, emphasizing the severity of the situation. Singh mentioned that the court considered this detail during a recent hearing, focusing on the gravity of the case. Additionally, Singh pointed out that the investigating team faced challenges in obtaining cooperation from the accused, Giribala Singh, despite court directives.

In a significant development, the Madhya Pradesh High Court overturned the anticipatory bail granted to former district judge Giribala Singh in connection with the alleged dowry death of her daughter-in-law, Twisha Sharma. The court’s decision, issued on Wednesday, reversed the relief provided by a lower court, citing insufficient consideration of crucial evidence from the case diary and witness statements before granting bail. Justice Devnarayan Mishra, in his ruling, emphasized that the lower court failed to adequately assess essential evidence, including case diaries, witness testimonies, and WhatsApp conversations.

The High Court’s scrutiny revealed serious flaws in the previous order, noting that vital witness statements and documentary evidence were overlooked by the trial court. These omissions suggested Singh’s potential involvement in the case, leading to the revocation of the anticipatory bail. The court’s decision underscores the importance of thorough examination of evidence in legal proceedings.
