The Madhya Pradesh Premier League (MPL) 2026 is set to be more thrilling with the addition of five new teams this season. The men’s tournament, previously with seven franchises, will now feature 10 teams, including Ujjain and Nimar. In the women’s competition, a franchise from Gwalior has been added, expanding the tournament to five teams.
The women’s tournament has also grown significantly with the inclusion of two new franchises, providing a platform for women cricketers in Madhya Pradesh to showcase their skills. This expansion aims to enhance competition, offering more opportunities to young cricketers across the state.
Former MPL Chairman Mahanaaryaman Scindia expressed positivity towards the new teams, emphasizing the increased opportunities for players and the discovery of fresh talent from various regions of Madhya Pradesh. The goal is to continue the league’s growth, serving as a robust platform for budding cricketers.
In the men’s category, Malwa Stallions, Ujjain Falcons, and Royal Nimar Eagles are the new additions, joining the existing franchises for an exciting season. The women’s league welcomes Gwalior Shernis and Royal Nimar Eagles, alongside other teams, to compete in the expanded five-team tournament.
