Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav revealed plans for a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy during the Regional AI Impact Conference in Bhopal. The policy aims to enhance governance and prioritize public welfare through AI technologies. The state government, in collaboration with the India AI Mission, is committed to making AI a cornerstone of transparent and citizen-centric governance.
Yadav emphasized the importance of AI for public welfare and announced the forthcoming AI policy to improve governance and ensure the well-being of Madhya Pradesh residents. Additionally, the Chief Minister unveiled the Madhya Pradesh Space Tech Policy, signaling the state’s dedication to utilizing advanced technologies for progress and innovation.
At the conference, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain and Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Dubey presented the state’s AI vision document titled ‘AI for People, Planet and Progress: Madhya Pradesh Roadmap to Impact.’ Jain highlighted the pivotal role AI will play across various sectors in the future. He addressed concerns about job displacement due to AI adoption, assuring that new opportunities will emerge despite some transformations in existing roles.
Dubey stressed the significance of data in AI-driven governance, noting Madhya Pradesh’s leadership in generating authentic, internally sourced data. He mentioned the state’s support to other regions like Kerala and Jammu and Kashmir in establishing their data ecosystems. The conference saw participation from experts representing organizations such as Google, Microsoft, and Deloitte, setting the stage for the upcoming India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi.
