The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made another arrest in connection with the Bhangar bomb blast case in West Bengal. Sainur Molla, the driver of the Scorpio car used to transport the bomb makers, has been arrested, bringing the total arrests to three. The explosion occurred during the making of crude bombs before the recent West Bengal Assembly elections.
Several locations, including the residence and suspected hideouts of former Trinamool Congress MLA Saokat Molla, a prime suspect, were searched. The searches yielded incriminating materials, documents, and electronic devices. The NIA is investigating the accused’s role in the larger conspiracy.
Efforts are ongoing to locate and apprehend the absconders, including Saokat Molla. Earlier, the NIA raided Saokat Molla’s house in South 24 Parganas district. The search operation, part of the bomb blast investigation, involved a large presence of Central force personnel. Saokat was not present during the raid, and his family members were questioned.
