Madhya Pradesh is set to enhance tourism and religious visits with a new helicopter service connecting Bhopal to Chanderi and Orchha. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will inaugurate this ‘PM Shri Heli Tourism’ initiative, aiming to provide seamless travel for devotees and tourists. The service will directly link Bhopal to Orchha, known for the Ram Raja Temple, and Chanderi, celebrated for its historical heritage and exquisite sarees.
The helicopter service, operating as Sector-2 of the initiative, will offer a convenient way for visitors to explore Chanderi’s cultural treasures and have darshan at the Ram Temple. Fares for the Bhopal-Chanderi leg are set at Rs 5,500, and for Bhopal-Orchha at Rs 6,500. Additionally, a comprehensive package priced at Rs 14,500 will include taxi services, VIP darshan, and a ‘Joy Ride’ experience for tourists.
The ‘PM Shri Heli Tourism’ service, launched on November 1, 2025, has connected key circuits in Madhya Pradesh, benefiting over 2,648 tourists and devotees. This expansion is expected to boost the state’s tourism by reducing travel time, promoting religious tourism, and showcasing its cultural and natural heritage. The new sector is anticipated to attract pilgrims to Orchha and culture enthusiasts to Chanderi.
