Singer-songwriter Madonna recently dominated New York City to mark the release of Confessions II, a follow-up to her album ‘Confessions on a Dance Floor’ from 20 years ago.
During the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of the visualizer for Confessions II, set to debut on July 3, the 7-time Grammy winner shared that the short film is all about “connection,” aiming to convey this theme through her music, as reported by ‘Deadline.’
Madonna expressed her desire to create music with substance, emphasizing that dance music not only makes you move but also helps you connect with the universe and other people. She highlighted the importance of taking risks, being curious, observant, and disconnecting from phones to truly connect with others.
Following her appearance at Coachella in April, Madonna, known as the Queen of Pop, observed that everyone had their phones up, making it hard for her to see her fans. This led her to have fans lock their devices during a recent screening, emphasizing the need for real connections over digital distractions.
Directed by David Toro and Solomon Chase (known as TORSO), Confessions II is a 13-minute short film featuring the first six tracks of Madonna’s upcoming 15th studio album, premiering on YouTube next Monday. The film includes appearances by Benedict Cumberbatch, Debi Mazar, Kate Moss, Julia Garner, Odessa A’zion, Richard E. Grant, Honey Dijon, Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon, and more. The Tribeca event followed Madonna’s surprise concert where she performed songs from the album.
