Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced the successful implementation of the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Debt Relief Scheme, providing significant debt relief to distressed farmers in the state. Under this scheme, 56 lakh farmers will benefit, with additional incentives for those who have been consistent in their loan repayments.
The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of this initiative by symbolically distributing debt waiver certificates and new crop loan cheques in Solapur district. He highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting farmers, with plans to disburse funds and provide subsidies for agricultural needs, including electricity bills and irrigation.
Fadnavis also introduced innovative measures to enhance agricultural practices, such as the Maha Vistar app, an AI-based tool offering personalized guidance on farming techniques. Additionally, he outlined plans for infrastructure development in Pandharpur to accommodate the annual gathering of devotees and ensure the safety and convenience of visitors.
The government aims to modernize agriculture, reduce costs, and boost productivity, with a focus on sustainable water management through the construction of barrages on rivers. Fadnavis assured comprehensive rehabilitation for locals affected by development projects, underscoring the administration’s commitment to supporting the farming community.
