Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis revealed that security forces have successfully dismantled 44 Maoist monuments in Gadchiroli district. This action is a significant step in combating left-wing extremism and signifies the government’s dedication to peace and development in the region. The Chief Minister praised the police force for their bravery in removing these symbols of terror, emphasizing the victory of democracy over fear.

The monuments, strategically placed by the Maoists in remote areas to instill fear among locals, have been a longstanding issue. However, the state government’s consistent anti-Maoist efforts have led to a positive transformation in Gadchiroli. Through security operations, surrender policies, and development initiatives, the region has seen improvements in security and public trust. A joint operation involving various security forces resulted in the successful demolition of these structures.

Chief Minister Fadnavis highlighted the transition towards a Maoist-free Gadchiroli, aligning with the national goal set by the Union Home Ministry. He envisions the district as a key player in the steel industry, aiming to become the “Green Steel Hub of India.” With recent surrenders of Maoist leaders, the Chief Minister sees this as a turning point in eradicating the Maoist presence in Maharashtra, particularly in Gadchiroli.
