Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde faced criticism from Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for their handling of the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) paper leak issue. Gandhi expressed concern over the delay in announcing a new exam date, leaving 6 lakh candidates in uncertainty.
Gandhi emphasized the impact on aspiring teachers who had diligently prepared for the exam, urging immediate action to address the situation. He demanded accountability for the leak and urged for measures to protect the affected candidates’ future, including age limit relaxations. Gandhi also announced plans to address the issue of paper leaks in Dehradun on July 17.
In response, Chief Minister Fadnavis assured that the matter was under investigation and steps were being taken to prevent such incidents in the future. He highlighted the government’s proactive approach in dealing with the situation. Deputy CM Shinde added that the police had already apprehended those involved in the leak before the incident occurred.
Shinde also pointed out previous instances of paper leaks during the opposition’s government tenure and vowed strict action against the culprits to prevent future occurrences. He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring the integrity of exams and protecting the country’s educational system.
