Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently held discussions with a delegation led by Nepal MP Sandeep Rana to enhance the relationship between India and Nepal. During the meeting in Mumbai, CM Fadnavis expressed pleasure in hosting the delegation, which included MP Nima Giri from Lumbini Province and former Constituent Assembly member Amar Singh Pun. Emphasizing the strong historical and cultural ties between the two nations, they explored avenues to further strengthen bilateral cooperation for mutual progress and prosperity.
Nepal MP Rana pointed out that Nepal’s exports to India are relatively limited, including products like tea, steel items, and edible oils. However, he highlighted the vast potential for expanding trade due to similarities in food habits and lifestyles between the two countries. Rana noted that Nepal’s unique goods, cultivated in the Himalayan region, hold significant value and appeal, offering ample opportunities for enhancing trade that benefits both India and Nepal.
Rana also emphasized the advantage of the open border shared by India and Nepal, enabling unrestricted movement of citizens between the two nations. He underscored the immense prospects this arrangement presents for boosting trade and fostering economic collaboration, paving the way for further growth and cooperation.
