Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has raised concerns about the protest led by the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Despite receiving support from Opposition leaders and social media-active youth, Fadnavis criticized the demonstrators’ intentions, stating that their motives have been exposed and are unlikely to succeed in garnering public backing.
Fadnavis strongly reacted to the protest, highlighting that the speeches and slogans at Jantar Mantar did not represent India’s youth but rather aimed at promoting disorder. He emphasized that the platform had turned into a space for anarchy.
Accusing the protesters of hypocrisy, Fadnavis pointed out their contradiction in holding Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution while rejecting the constitutional institutions it established. He denounced their desire to disrupt the system and create chaos, asserting that such intentions would fail without public support.
Former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray also weighed in, cautioning against underestimating the protesters and urging the government to heed the concerns of the young men and women participating in the demonstration at Jantar Mantar.
