The Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President, Harshvardhan Sapkal, expressed that the farming community is determined to remove the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government from power. At a farmers’ convention in Vaijapur, Sapkal accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of neglecting crucial issues like agrarian distress, inflation, and unemployment.
During his speech at the convention, Sapkal emphasized the deep crisis faced by the agricultural sector in the past 12 years. He criticized the surge in cultivation costs, increasing farmer suicides, and the absence of fair prices for agricultural produce under Modi’s leadership.
Sapkal alleged that the government is operating based on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s ideology, as outlined in M.S. Golwalkar’s book, “Bunch of Thoughts,” rather than focusing on public welfare. He raised concerns about the misuse of public and religious funds, pointing to instances like the installation of smart meters benefiting private corporations and the alleged mismanagement of donations for the Ayodhya Ram Temple.
