The Maharashtra Congress is set to launch a statewide protest against the BJP and the RSS regarding the alleged theft of donations at the Ayodhya Ram temple. State Congress chief Harshwardhan Sapkal expressed concerns over devotees’ donations being plundered, emphasizing the significance of the issue. The party plans to demand strict punishment for those responsible and will commence the protest at the historic Kalaram Temple in Nashik.
The protest will officially begin on Tuesday at 11 a.m., followed by a ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’ Satyagraha scheduled from July 9 to July 14 across all districts. During the protest, prayers will be offered at local temples for divine intervention. The Congress party’s move comes after the Shiv Sena initiated a “Ram Raksha Andolan” to address financial irregularities at the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya.
UBT leaders have demanded accountability over the alleged embezzlement of donations, urging for the dissolution of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Uddhav Thackeray and MP Sanjay Raut have strongly criticized the ruling party, highlighting missing valuables donated to the temple. Thackeray emphasized the importance of protecting devotees’ faith and heritage, vowing to stand firm against any exploitation of religious sentiments.
