In a significant move, the Maharashtra government has transferred 10 bureaucrats, officials confirmed. Lokesh Chandra, a 1993-batch IAS officer and Chairman of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, now serves as the Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister in Mumbai. Ashwini Bhide, a 1995-batch IAS officer and former Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, assumes the role of Municipal Commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Notably, Bhide becomes the first female bureaucrat to lead the BMC during a period of extensive projects for Mumbai’s development.
Vikas Chandra Rastogi, also a 1995-batch IAS officer and former Additional Chief Secretary (Agriculture), has been appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary of Financial Reforms, Finance Department, and the Mantralaya in Mumbai. This appointment aligns with the state government’s ‘Viksit Maharashtra’ vision document, aiming for a $5 trillion state economy by 2047. Vinita Vaid Singal, a 1996-batch IAS officer and former Principal Secretary of Disaster Management, Relief, and Rehabilitation, now serves as the Principal Secretary of the Soil and Water Conservation Department at Mantralaya in Mumbai.
Parimal Singh, a 2004-batch IAS officer and former Project Director of Nanaji Deshmukh Krishi Sanjivanee Project (POCRA), has been designated as the Secretary of the Agriculture department. Singh’s responsibilities include overseeing the implementation of the Maharashtra MahaAgri-AI Policy 2025–2029, aimed at integrating AI and digital technology into agriculture to enhance productivity and reduce fertilizer costs. Tukaram Mundhe, a 2005-batch IAS officer and former Divyang Kalyan Department Secretary, now holds the position of Disaster Management, Rehabilitation and Resettlement, Revenue, and Forest Department Secretary at Mantralaya in Mumbai.
Lahu Mali, a 2009-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the Managing Director of Shivshahi Punarvasan Project Limited in Mumbai. Manik Gursal, also a 2009-batch IAS officer, now serves as the Divyang Kalyan Department Secretary at Mantralaya in Mumbai. Prerna Deshbhratar, a 2010-batch IAS officer and former State Tax Joint Commissioner in Mumbai, has been appointed as the State Fisheries Department Commissioner in Mumbai. Lastly, Prithviraj B.P., a 2014-batch IAS officer and former Additional Municipal Commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation, has been named the Municipal Commissioner of Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation.
