The India Sporting Goods Fair (ISGF) 2026 commenced with a focus on elevating India as a global sports goods manufacturing and export hub. Secretary (Sports) Hari Ranjan Rao expressed optimism about India’s sports goods industry growth, aiming to increase exports from ₹3,000 crore to ₹80,000 crore. Rao emphasized the need for manufacturers to scale up significantly to achieve this ambitious target.
Rao urged manufacturers to expand globally, innovate, and invest, envisioning India hosting the world’s largest sports goods exhibition. The Government’s commitment was reaffirmed with ₹500 crore allocated in the Union Budget for the sector. While policy support will be provided, industry leadership in execution was emphasized.
Joint Secretary (Sports) Vineel Krishna highlighted the Government’s ambitious plans to boost the sports goods manufacturing sector for both domestic demand and global exports. Plans for a sports goods manufacturing scheme launch in the coming months were mentioned, alongside growing state government interest in promoting the sector. The ISGF, organized by the Sports Goods and Toys Export Promotion Council, features 75 exhibitors showcasing a wide array of sports products.
