Maharashtra Minister of Women and Child Welfare, Aditi Tatkare, announced that 192 Gram Panchayats from the state have ranked among the top 1,000 performing Gram Panchayats in India. This achievement marks Maharashtra’s significant contribution to the ‘Suposhit Gram Panchayat Abhiyaan’, highlighting the state’s dedication to enhancing nutrition outcomes at the grassroots level. The initiative aims to boost nutritional indicators by coordinating efforts of various departments and community stakeholders.
The ‘Suposhit Gram Panchayat Abhiyaan’ is a national program that focuses on reducing malnutrition, enhancing maternal and child health, and ensuring effective delivery of nutrition interventions. Minister Tatkare attributed Maharashtra’s success to collaborative actions, stringent monitoring, community engagement, and the hard work of frontline workers and officials. The state’s strategic interventions under the POSHAN Abhiyaan have significantly contributed to these positive results.
