The ruling Mahayuti alliance, consisting of BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP, is optimistic about securing victory in all 17 Maharashtra Legislative Council seats. Leaders from the three parties announced this unified front decision at a joint press conference. They emphasized the importance of contesting the elections together.
State BJP chief Ravindra Chavan, state NCP president Sunil Tatkare, and Shiv Sena former MP Rahul Shewale revealed that the top leadership of all alliance partners had agreed on this strategy. Chavan addressed concerns of rebellion within the alliance, stressing that the focus was on officially releasing the list of Mahayuti candidates for the elections.
The leaders urged rebel candidates with independent nominations to withdraw their papers before the deadline, assuring them of future considerations. Tatkare highlighted the delayed elections due to pending local body polls, emphasizing the need for a strong NDA at both national and state levels for India’s progress. The alliance leaders discussed resolving issues with rebel candidates and emphasized the importance of casting first-preference votes for Mahayuti candidates for a clear victory.
