Maharashtra NCP Chief Sunil Tatkare has strongly criticized the murder of Mangesh Kalokhe in Khopoli, terming it as “extremely condemnable.” He has urged Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into the incident. Kalokhe, a former councillor and husband of newly elected Shiv Sena councillor Manasi Kalokhe, was tragically killed in Raigad district.
Tatkare has emphasized the need for a thorough and swift investigation to ensure the prompt arrest of all suspects. He has cautioned against giving credence to unverified claims related to the case, stating that many allegations are unfounded. Tatkare has stressed the importance of allowing the police to conduct a fair investigation to determine the facts and any underlying disputes.
The NCP Chief has expressed confidence in his party’s Raigad district president Sudhakar Ghare, asserting that Ghare is not connected to the incident. Tatkare has refrained from making statements that could hinder the ongoing investigation, emphasizing the importance of letting the authorities establish the truth. He has also made references to other political figures in relation to the case.
Following allegations by the Shiv Sena implicating NCP activists in Kalokhe’s murder, an FIR has been filed against 10 individuals, including high-profile names like Sudhakar Ghare and Bharat Bhagat, who are currently evading arrest. Police efforts are underway to prevent the suspects from fleeing, with teams stationed at key locations. The police have intensified their search for the remaining suspects involved in the brutal attack.
