Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced the conversion of land records in villages newly included in municipal councils and corporations into property cards, replacing the existing 7/12 land records. This move aims to benefit residents in urbanized areas and streamline land administration processes.
When a village joins a municipal corporation or council, the land’s classification changes from agricultural to non-agricultural or urban use, as explained by Minister Bawankule. The state government will soon issue orders to implement this decision across Maharashtra, simplifying land administration in areas affected by urban expansion.
The transition to property cards is expected to facilitate property transactions in urban areas, providing a more standardized proof of ownership. It will also help resolve discrepancies in land records that often cause delays in securing bank loans, while promoting consistency and integration in land documentation practices.
Tata Memorial Hospital in Maharashtra has introduced three Automated Tube Labelling and Barcoding Systems (APTL) under a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, according to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. This technological advancement is set to enhance diagnostic accuracy, improve patient safety, and streamline clinical workflows within the hospital.
The APTL system at Tata Memorial Hospital is designed to eliminate errors like sample mix-ups and delays, ensuring more reliable reports for doctors and expediting the treatment process, especially for critical illnesses like cancer. The integration of this technology is expected to elevate the hospital’s laboratory management standards to international levels, contributing to positive changes in the healthcare sector.
