The day of Mahashivratri, coinciding with the 13th day of Chaturdashi, signifies the auspicious wedding of Baba Baidyanath and Mata Parvati. In Maharashtra, devotees congregated at the historic Aundha Nagnath Temple to seek darshan of Lord Nageshwar and partake in special rituals. Uttar Pradesh witnessed large gatherings at the Sangam ghats in Prayagraj for the final bathing day of the Magh Mela, coinciding with Mahashivratri.
Devotees also thronged the sacred Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi for Baba Vishwanath’s darshan. In Madhya Pradesh, the renowned Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain hosted the sacred Bhasma Aarti amid chants and rituals. Rajasthan saw a significant number of devotees visiting the Saipau Mahadev Temple to offer prayers. Mahashivratri, a major Hindu festival, is celebrated to honor Lord Shiva and commemorate the divine union of Shiva and Parvati.
