Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (M&M) announced a notable 18% year-on-year increase in overall auto sales for February 2026, totaling 97,177 vehicles, including exports. The company highlighted the Utility Vehicles segment as a significant growth driver, with 60,018 SUVs sold domestically, marking a 19% surge from the previous year.
Total utility vehicle sales, including exports, reached 60,685 units, while domestic sales in the Commercial Vehicles segment stood at 24,585 units, reflecting a 10% rise year-on-year. Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of the Automotive Division at M&M, attributed the strong performance to robust customer demand, particularly evident in the 60,018 SUVs sold during February.
Renault India also experienced substantial growth in February, reporting a 31% increase in wholesale dispatches to 3,495 units compared to the same period last year. The company’s cumulative growth for the first two months of 2026 amounted to 32%, supported by the continued success of its refreshed Kiger and Triber models.
The Triber model notably achieved a remarkable 57% year-on-year growth in February, contributing to Renault India’s positive brand perception and sustained growth trend since the third quarter of 2025. The company’s growth trajectory included a 9% increase in Q3 CY25, 27% in Q4 CY25, and a notable 32% growth in the initial two months of 2026. Renault India also highlighted the anticipated return of the Duster to India, which has generated heightened customer interest and increased dealership footfalls.
