The main accused in the case involving the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Surya Pratap Chauhan in Ghaziabad was shot dead by the police during an encounter. Asad, a criminal with a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head, was injured in retaliatory firing by the police and was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Dhaval Jaiswal revealed that Asad and his accomplices had attacked Surya Pratap Chauhan on May 28, resulting in his demise during treatment at a hospital. The incident had sparked tension and protests in the region, with demands for the immediate arrest of the accused.
Following the stabbing, three of the accused were swiftly apprehended by the police, while Asad, the main accused, remained at large. Police teams were mobilized to capture him, and a reward was announced for his arrest. Acting on intelligence that Asad was planning to escape after collecting money, the police set up barricades and intensified checks in the area.
Asad was spotted on a motorcycle with an accomplice, and upon police interception, he fired at the officers, leading to a gunfight where he sustained fatal injuries. While Asad succumbed to his wounds, his accomplice managed to flee, prompting a search operation to capture the absconding individual.
