Majbat Railway Station in Assam’s Udalguri district has undergone a comprehensive redevelopment as part of the Amrit Bharat Railway Station Scheme. Passengers are pleased with the improved facilities and give credit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the transformation.
The station now boasts modern infrastructure, upgraded passenger amenities, digital services, and a new architectural design. It is set to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister soon. The enhancements aim to enhance passenger convenience and travel experience, including a new station building, spacious circulating and parking areas, a Foot Over Bridge (FOB) for platform access, and upgraded waiting halls.
Passengers have lauded the station’s transformation, highlighting the introduction of air-conditioned waiting rooms, better seating arrangements, and improved drinking water facilities. They note a significant improvement in the station’s condition compared to previous years, with increased seating, cleaner water filters, improved facilities, and enhanced cleanliness.
The redevelopment project has introduced new infrastructure and services at the station, such as a new building, entrance gate, platform, lifts, Wi-Fi, and other amenities. Commuters appreciate the development initiatives under PM Modi’s leadership, citing improved business opportunities, enhanced tourism, and overall benefits for the city.
The revamped Majbat Railway Station signifies a broader effort to modernize railway infrastructure nationwide. The Amrit Bharat Railway Station Scheme focuses on improving passenger convenience, accessibility, and modern facilities at 50 railway stations in Assam. The initiative includes free Wi-Fi services, upgraded passenger information systems, executive lounges, and cleanliness improvements, while supporting local businesses through the ‘One Station One Product’ initiative.
