A significant political and social clash has emerged in Kerala as NSS General Secretary G. Sukumaran Nair criticized Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan for arrogance. Nair stated that the NSS would no longer seek meetings with the Chief Minister.
During the annual budget meeting at NSS headquarters in Perunna, Nair expressed displeasure over the Chief Minister’s office allegedly ignoring appointment requests. The NSS leadership aimed to address technical issues related to income tax amendments and follow up on a previous memorandum.
Sukumaran Nair emphasized that the NSS would not pursue appointments any longer and criticized Satheesan for changing his approach after assuming power. This criticism has strained the relationship between the Congress leadership and the influential community organization.
The NSS, known for maintaining neutrality towards political parties, is now on a collision course with a Chief Minister from its own community background. The organization is contemplating taking public stances against government policies, reflecting a shift in the political dynamics in Kerala.
