A significant fire erupted at a three-storey commercial building hosting an electronics showroom in Delhi’s Uttam Nagar area early on Wednesday. The blaze, which started in the basement of the building, quickly spread throughout the structure covering an area of about 350 square yards. The fire damaged a considerable amount of electronic goods, electrical equipment, furniture, and fixtures stored on all floors of the showroom.
Firefighters from the Delhi Fire Services swiftly responded to the incident, deploying more than 15 fire tenders and over 75 firefighters to the scene. They worked tirelessly to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby structures, eventually gaining control of the blaze after several hours of battling. By 6:30 a.m., the fire was successfully brought under control.
Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries reported during the fire incident. Authorities are now evaluating the extent of the damage caused to the building and the items stored inside. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown at this time, with further investigations ongoing. In a separate incident on June 29, a fire broke out in the electric meter panel of a residential building in the Keshav Puram area of northwest Delhi, where three individuals were safely rescued.
