A significant development has unfolded in the Bengaluru murder case, where a young man named Kiran was allegedly killed by his girlfriend, Prema. During police interrogation, Prema confessed to the crime, revealing that she blindfolded Kiran, tied him to a bed, poured kerosene on him, and set him on fire after he declined to marry her and distanced himself.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West Division), D.L. Nagesh, disclosed that the initial impression of the case as a suicide was dispelled after investigations confirmed it to be a murder involving petrol and kerosene. Kiran and Prema first met in August last year, with Prema expressing her love for Kiran on Valentine’s Day this year. The relationship soured as Kiran started to distance himself from Prema, causing significant distress to her.
Prema allegedly premeditated the crime, acquiring petrol and kerosene in advance. She reportedly planned to take her own life after the incident. Following an argument over marriage on the day of the incident, Prema tied Kiran to a bed and set him ablaze, resulting in his immediate death. Byadarahalli police have detained Prema for further interrogation and have secured the evidence related to the crime.
