Before its grand premiere on June 27, a sneak peek of the upcoming show “Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa” was released, showcasing its prison setting. The show will feature fourteen inmates, two jailers, and a single lock-up for a duration of 6 weeks. Inmates will need to complete tasks to earn in-game currency for basic necessities like food, supplies, and privileges.
Popular television personalities Ram Kapoor, Shivangi Joshi, and breakout star Pamala Serena have been introduced as the latest inmates of ‘Lock Upp: Sach ya Sazaa’. Actor Riteish Deshmukh and filmmaker Farah Khan will serve as the Jailers in the show, which is co-produced by Balaji Telefilms Ltd and Colosceum.
Discussing the introduction of this fresh format on Netflix, Ektaa Kapoor expressed, “Lock Upp: Sach ya Sazaa” stands out among my various television creations. It removes filters and comforts, immersing individuals in an environment where every decision and relationship carries consequences. There’s no escape from scrutiny when isolated from the outside world.”
Ektaa Kapoor further stated, “This isn’t just a typical reality show; it’s a social experiment filled with entertainment, drama, and unexpected twists. Bringing the show to Netflix presents new opportunities, enabling us to enhance the experience on a larger scale.”
Monika Shergill, Vice President – Content, Netflix India, remarked, “Captive reality is a genre that has intrigued us for some time because it delves into a universally captivating subject – people. Their interactions, alliances, conflicts, vulnerabilities, and choices under pressure are inherently fascinating. Lock Upp encompasses all these elements – high stakes, engaging personalities, genuine emotions, and a format that has garnered a devoted fan base.”
“Lock Upp: Sach ya Sazaa” will exclusively stream on Netflix starting June 27, airing every Sat-Wed at 8:00 PM.
