After the West Bengal elections, Mamata Banerjee accused the BJP of resorting to unfair tactics and using the state police to undermine the Trinamool Congress. She claimed that Trinamool Congress MLAs were threatened by the police to stay away from party activities, followed by pressure from BJP offices to disrupt the party internally. Banerjee emphasized the need to remove those lacking moral ethics from the party to strengthen it further.
In response to the expulsion of two legislators for alleged anti-party activities, Banerjee criticized the actions of certain leaders who she claimed were trying to sabotage the Trinamool Congress from within. She highlighted the challenges faced by the party in obtaining police permissions for public events, alleging biased treatment compared to non-BJP parties. Despite these obstacles, Banerjee expressed confidence in the party’s resilience against such attempts to weaken it.
Banerjee also condemned the assault on her nephew, Abhishek Banerjee, by unknown assailants, expressing concern over the incident. She criticized the subsequent arrest of a person who tried to protect Abhishek during the attack, emphasizing the need for justice and safety. Banerjee’s strong words targeted the BJP and the state government, accusing them of orchestrating actions that endanger the well-being of individuals associated with the Trinamool Congress.
