A tragic incident unfolded in Nichetoli village, Jharkhand, where a 50-year-old man named Gajendra Singh was allegedly murdered by his brother-in-law, Bhupesh Khandit. The dispute arose when Bhupesh refused to allow cooking at the house, leading to a fatal confrontation with Gajendra involving a sharp-edged weapon and a stone. Bhupesh’s sister, who tried to intervene, also sustained minor injuries during the altercation.
The conflict escalated on Friday morning when Bhupesh denied utensils to his sister for cooking, resulting in a heated argument that turned violent. Bhupesh, with a history of a previous attempt-to-murder case, attacked Gajendra with a sharp weapon known as ‘Dauli’ and then fatally struck him with a large stone. Following the murder, Bhupesh locked himself inside a room in the house, where he was later apprehended by the police.
In response to the severity of the crime, authorities called in a Forensic Science Laboratory team from Ranchi to gather scientific evidence at the crime scene. Gajendra’s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, while the police have initiated a thorough investigation into the tragic incident and the underlying family discord.
