A man, Dharmender, was arrested in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly killing a 27-year-old villager, Mukesh, on suspicion of having an affair with his wife. The arrest took place after an encounter with the police in Usfar village.
The police received information about Dharmender’s presence in the village and surrounded him. When asked to surrender, Dharmender fired at the police, prompting the police to retaliate in self-defense. During the exchange, Dharmender sustained a leg injury and was subsequently apprehended.
Authorities recovered a .315 bore pistol, two spent and one live cartridge, and a motorcycle without a number plate from Dharmender. Initial investigations suggest that the murder was driven by suspicion and old enmity between Dharmender and Mukesh.
Dharmender, who had multiple cases against him in various states, faces charges of murder and attacking the police team. The accused was admitted to the district hospital for treatment, and further investigations are ongoing to uncover more details about the incident.
