Kolkata Police apprehended a man in the Jorabagan area of north Kolkata after he allegedly stabbed three individuals following a relationship conflict. The incident arose from a disagreement between a woman’s ex-boyfriend and her current partner. The altercation resulted in the former boyfriend and two friends being wounded on a public street.
The victims, in critical condition, were promptly transported to a medical facility. The suspect, identified as Sudipto Mandal, was taken into custody by Jorabagan Police Station officials. The dispute stemmed from the woman’s shifting affections between Shubhajit Roy and Sudipto Mandal, leading to escalating tensions and arguments.
Sudipto Mandal purportedly lured Roy to Rabindra Sarani under false pretenses, where a heated argument ensued, culminating in violence. Despite Roy summoning his friends for support, Mandal persisted in his aggression, ultimately resorting to a sharp weapon. Mandal fled the scene after the attack, prompting a swift police response and subsequent arrest.
Residents in the vicinity provided crucial information to the authorities, aiding in the apprehension of the perpetrator. An investigation is ongoing, with charges filed against Sudipto Mandal for his alleged role in the violent incident.
